The race that stops the nation is almost here, and we’re celebrating with a special Melbourne Cup Luncheon at Grand Central Tavern on Tuesday, 3 November 2026.

Whether Melbourne Cup Day is an annual tradition with friends, an excuse to get the work crew together or simply a chance to dress up and enjoy a great afternoon out, join us in the Grand Central Function Room from 12:00pm until 3:30pm.

A Melbourne Cup Lunch to Look Forward To

Tickets are $60 per person and include a complimentary glass of bubbles on arrival before settling in for a delicious three-course luncheon.

Start with Chinese five-spiced duck spring rolls, served with a hoisin kewpie mayonnaise dipping sauce.

For mains, our alternate drop features porchetta stuffed with mixed fruits and herbs, served with roasted vegetables, wilted baby spinach and jus, or a 200g chargrilled porterhouse, served with thyme-infused sweet potato mash, roasted root vegetables and a rich red wine jus.

And because no special lunch is complete without dessert, finish the afternoon with our house-made double chocolate brownie, topped with chocolate ganache and served with vanilla bean ice cream, honeycomb crumble and fresh strawberries.
